How I Get A Better Nights Sleep

Aaahh sleep, my favourite thing right now! It's almost bad how much I can't wait to crawl into bed at the end of the day and just sleep the night away.

I used to be such a bad sleeper as this is when my thoughts become really overactive. I could think about anything and everything, going over scenarios that have happened and could happen - not fun.

However, since making a conscious effort to introduce a few things into my night time routine, this has pretty much gone away for me. So if you wanna find out more, just keep scrolling..

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

This little bottle is amazing, and is also my favourite of all the oils that I have. A lot of you probably know the benefits of lavender already such as helping you feel calm, relaxed and sleepy - but maybe it doesn't always work. Welllllll, this does. As soon as I've put this on before bed, everything starts to feel heavier and I drift off to sleep so quickly.

READING

Reading before going to sleep can work a bit like magic for me, it makes me feel so tired that with this and a bit of lavender oil I am asleep within minutes, which used to be very unlike me.

SWITCHING OFF

I'm normally very good at switching off, and by this I mean staying away from my phone or anything like that. If you're not careful, you find yourself staring at a screen literally all day long (especially with working in an office), so I like to try and be consious of this and step away from it at the end of the day.
I'm not certain that it helps me sleep easier but I'm thinking it must help as a lot of other blog posts that I've read and YouTube videos that I've watched advise this as well.

CALM

If you haven't got this app, then you should definitely give it a try. If I am really struggling to sleep, the sleep stories available in Calm save the day ..or night.
It's also great for meditiation and breathing exercises, if you fancy giving that a go as well.
